Who We Are
As a nonprofit organization helping children receive a wholesome technology and music education through workshops, content, and concerts, our goal is to make sure that all children in our modern world are empowered with the tools necessary for a wholesome and healthy life. The philosophy that we hold close to our hearts is that traditional skills such as expression through music are just as important as modern skills such as coding for fostering a healthy and comfortable life for all in our world.
Founded during the summer of 2017, STEAM Forward Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending education inequity in STEAM fields. Our idea for coding and music workshops stemmed from not being able to find personable, high-quality resources online or in our community specifically for kids without a supportive financial or family situation.
The 2019-2020 program year is our third one running workshops and charity concerts. Through our programs, we've brought together musicians, technology professionals, and students to work towards the common goal of ending education inequity. We're focused on providing learning opportunities and STEAM experiences for disadvantaged students and in doing so, we've also provided volunteer opportunities for students from high school to college.
We involve every member in all types of communities. Our charity concerts involve 50+ students from Mendham High School across 6 music ensembles, including the jazz combo, Select Strings, trumpet quartet, and more (see videos on Instagram). With our student volunteers, partner groups, and partner schools, we hold coding workshops for disadvantaged kids and connect with other #CSForALL organizations with a similar mission.
